THE people who spoke against Lewisham Council flying the rainbow flag outside the town hall appear to have completely missed the point (Proud To Fly The Gay Flag, News Shopper, November 9).
The council is doing this in recognition of the massive step forward in equal rights the Civil Partnership scheme will bring to the gay and lesbian community.
I can't understand how numbers of the Christian faith can claim to teach you to love your fellow man, yet continue to preach division and hatred of people in society whose only difference is they are gay.
