THESE days one hears so many disparaging things of the NHS, including its day-to-day running of its hospitals.

It's often hard to see where the truth lies, as, being a country-wide organisation, it varies from area to area.

However, it has recently been my (mis)fortune to have been admitted to Lewisham University Hospital, where the staff bent over backwards to make sure all patients were kept comfortable and happy.

Ordinarily, I would be very sceptical of reading this kind of letter but having experienced it for myself, I consider myself to be lucky and privileged to have been under such excellent nursing care.
