Several months ago on Channel 4 News, the then London Minister, Nick Raynsford, stated after the General Election, council tax would not rise dramatically.
We now hear maybe council tax will rise by £100 plus. This is at least four times the rate of inflation.
Town halls say council tax must rise at this rate because they are getting a smaller amount from the Government.
A lot of government income from us has been used to finance the invasion of Iraq, which many people were against.
Now they expect council tax payers to pick up some of the bill.
What are councils going to do if we can't pay? On our part, we must apply for any benefits available.
