ONCE again the British public has true to yearly form, shown why fireworks should be banned from sale in shops.

Only properly-organised displays on November 5 should be allowed.

The constant bangs from repeaters over and over again, then a pause, then another repeater.

Is this all people can buy? Or even want to buy? Or is it just their mission to be as noisy and anti-social as they possibly can? How clever they all are.

I was sitting with a dog who, for over five hours, was too terrified to go out to the garden to empty her bladder.

How would they like to suffer that?

For the record, new laws exist and legally, garden fireworks must cease at 11pm.

I urge anyone who has someone in their street letting fireworks off after 11pm, to phone environmental noise control and report them, as I believe a spot fine could be issued.
