ON OCTOBER 25 News Shopper published a letter from Alan Bannister (Church Move Is Hypocritical).
In his letter Mr Bannister stated: "Bexley Council has decreed this as permitted development' and dispensed with the need for any planning application."
This is not correct.
The proposal was for "...permitted development for installation of telecommunications equipment comprising one no. trisector antenna within shroud on a pole fixed to the brickwork and ancillary cabinets".
This is not a full planning application but a statutory submission to the council by a mobile telecoms operator to check if the proposal falls within permitted development rights and therefore does not require full planning permission.
In this case the proposal fell within the permitted development rights for such installations.
The church has terminated its agreement with T-Mobile.
