OVER the past few months News Shopper has covered the Council's campaign for a Crossrail station at Woolwich.
The need for a station at Woolwich is clear and has all-party support. It is vital we clear up any misconceptions about the council's campaign.
We welcome the move to build a station at Abbey Wood but believe the lack of a one at Woolwich is a missed opportunity.
A Crossrail station here would be a tremendous catalyst for the transformation of Woolwich and much of the borough.
Woolwich is the only major town south of the Thames in the area and this makes the case for a Crossrail station here all the more pressing.
This is an opportunity we cannot afford to miss and it is vital the whole community unites behind the campaign.
