I AM researching my family tree and believe some of my ancestors may still be in the Woolwich/Plumstead area.
I am looking for descendants of Walter Herbert Goldsmith who was born in Southwark in 1869 and lived in Timbercroft Lane, Plumstead, until 1938/9.
I believe Walter married Rosina Rabbich from Devon and they had five children: Edith, Joycena, Rosina, Walter Thomas Mark and Daisy Rosina.
I have a record of the younger Walter dying in 1957 and he lived at 31 Duncroft, Plumstead, with his wife Florence Mary.
I believe they had two girls, Eileen and Brenda.
Walter senior had a brother George who was my grandfather and there was also a brother Harry who settled in Halstead, Essex.
My sister-in-law has located his granddaughter who is still living in Halstead.
I would very much like to hear from anybody who feels they may be members of the Goldsmith family.
I can be contacted at 3 Bowford Avenue, Bexleyheath, DA7 4ST or by email at margaret.armstrong @ntlworld.com
