I AM writing with reference to the Cops and Robbers story in the Daily Mirror on June 6.
I think Alan Hillsden has turned his back on the Abbey Wood community who, with the help from Joy Cunningham OBE, Keith Skinner and myself, aim to make it a better place to live and work.
Abbey Wood has a great partnership with the Met Police and Abbey Wood.
Mr Hillsden should have thought long and hard before making allegations about the Met and the PCSOs. The truth will come out in the end.
He says full-time police officers are stealing money and DVDs and refusing to make arrests if they are due to clock off.
Does he have evidence? I suggest not.
And the photos which appeared in the Mirror are not clear.
You can take a photo of anything and make it look like something completely different to the truth.
Community policing is a very slow process.
PCSOs are not the same as the Met Police but they work in a partnership with its officers. It is quite clear to me most people are confused as to PCSOs' roles in the community.
I utterly refuse to believe the allegations Mr Hillsden has made.
As chairman of the housing panel for Abbey Wood and member of the independent advisory group for the police in Greenwich Borough, the boys and girls in blue get my full support and the community should stand strong.
