Twice this year, our postman has dropped a note through our letter box advising us to report to Bexleyheath sorting office where a letter was being held with insufficient postage paid on it.
If the sender had forgotten to put stamps on the envelope or the stamps had fallen off then fair enough, but this was not the case.
The sender put two second class stamps on this envelope.
When I arrived at Bexleyheath sorting office the following morning, I was told by the counter staff the letter was just 5p over weight.
As a result of this I was asked to pay £1.05 to retrieve it.
The total cost for this letter to be sent was over £1.50 which included the two stamps already on the envelope.
How greedy you are Bexleyheath sorting office, over a few pence. Do you have a member of your staff sitting there weighing our letters hoping to make a bit more revenue for you?
Thank God for emails.
