I AM trying to locate a childhood friend.
Her name was Diane Bunce and she lived in Hayes near West Wickham and she was not too far from Coney Hall.
I cannot remember her exact address.
We both attended Aylesbury School for Girls. It was located near Queen Anne Avenue in Bromley.
We started school together in 1953 and graduated in 1959. She finished school in April as her birthday was in April. I finished in May so I graduated in the summer.
Diane was about 5ft 6in or 5ft 7in. Her hair was blonde worn short and wavy. Her eyes were green.
She was born, I believe, on April 14, 1942 and lived near Hayes Common but I cannot remember the road name.
She had one brother. The name Tony comes to my mind but I could be wrong.
Her mum made school sweaters on her knitting machine but I don’t know what her dad did for a living.
The headteacher of the school was Ms Blacklocks and the teachers were Ms Hildreth and Ms Wright. There was a physical education teacher, Ms Hance.
We were both very athletic.
I ended up working for the school system here in the United States and taught Physical Ed. Diane went on to attend a school which taught all aspects of secretarial work.
I believe the college was in St Johns, near London, but I do not recall the name.
We were both 15 when we graduated. Diane and I also attended a ballroom class.
We went every Saturday morning and it was held above The Regal movie theatre in Beckenham.
I hurt my best friend over something so trivial and have tried so hard to locate her.
I want to tell her how sorry I am for causing the hurt.
e both are not getting any younger so I want to find her very soon.
If you can locate her it would be so wonderful.
My maiden name was Janice Wallis. My nickname was Walley.
If you can help me could you please send any information to my cousin in England.
My cousin’s address is Lynne Clayton, 70 Upper Elmers End Road, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 4AW.
