LOCAL people keep saying how appalled they are with the state of Bromley Road – all those boarded up pubs and empty buildings make the area look run down. That’s why local Lib Dem councillors in Downham and Whitefoot have been fighting for special planning protection for Southend Village, in order to protect local buildings and the character of the area. Lewisham Council has now completed its study into the planning issues which have affected residents who live nearby and the document is now available for local residents to comment upon.
If you want to be sent a paper copy, email Jennifer.Lee@lewisham.gov.uk or call 020 8314 9787. The documents are also available to view in Lewisham libraries or at the Planning Information Office (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) on the 5th Floor of Laurence House.
This is your chance to have your say on the future of Bromley Road and Southend Village, so please make your voices heard.
