IT IS is a fact most emissions of toxic gases into the atmosphere are created by air flights and motor vehicles, causing global warming.
Therefore it is the responsibility of all to prevent this happening whenever we can.
My own area has been selected by Bromley’s “environmental department” to be a trial area for using two more bins to reduce waste products from food, to lower the cost of landfill.
I find this totally illogical for the following reasons.
I estimate that not more than five per cent of our waste is food waste.
The cost to council tax payers for these boxes (made abroad) must be enormous.
The council should ensure all waste is put in a good old fashioned dustbin which prevents vermin, that black plastic bags do not.
Finally I believe council tax bills can be reduced by closing down QUANGOs, which are expensive and ineffective.
