IN NOVEMBER last year due to development works in Sandy Lane, St Paul’s Cray, “temporary” traffic lights were installed at this location to enable essential utility services to be installed.

A large sign at the junction with Ruxley stated this work was expected to continue until March this year.

While I accept such works are unavoidable, there were long periods of time when no work appeared to take place at all.

During this period several calls had to be made due to malfunctioning lights.

The temporary lights finally disappeared on October 3. But then another set of lights appeared, as did a very long trench.

Bromley Council, citing problems between utility companies, appears powerless or unwilling to hurry the works up or even obtain a straight answer as to a completion date.

It is a totally unacceptable situation and some answers would be welcome.
