AT THE end of August I underwent an operation for a total hip replacement at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.
When I was discharged from hospital I arrived home to find my flat had already been equipped with various aids enabling me to regain my mobility.
I have since been visited regularly by an occupational therapist, physiotherapists and nurses who have assisted me with various remedial exercises as well as changing dressings and checking on my general clinical condition.
All these visits have been monitored and recorded.
This service has been provided by the Bexley Bridging Team, which was set up recently within the Bexley NHS Care Trust.
I can only say I have been very impressed with the skills, dedication and professionalism displayed by all the members of this team.
They are making a major contribution.
