THERE are stringent new bans imposed in Ethelbert Road, Bromley, stopping vehicles dropping off and picking up.
The Kent Association for the Blind runs a Wednesday morning session of coffee and talks for a lot of people who are mostly elderly, all blind and many with mobility problems.
They cannot now attend these occasions if they used to rely on taxis or dial a ride as these vehicles are no longer prepared to risk the fines incurred for the few minutes involved in these tasks.
My husband and I were fined £120 (£60 if paid immediately) for taking three minutes to pick up someone who is nearly blind and very immobile at 89 years of age.
What a sad situation this is. Can Bromley Council really justify denying these people a pleasant morning out once a week?
