IT is a mystery why governments are constantly at odds with the people they represent.
Take our council. In the Chatterton Road area of Bromley we have lived happily side by side for years.
Then the council decided parking restrictions might be a good idea.
To be fair, it also said if we did not want to be told how many visitors we could have in a year, then our views would be honoured.
The vast majority said “no”, which makes you wonder why money was wasted in the first place.
So now councillors have a definite “no”. They then tell us that parts of some streets said yes. They will now canvass again and again until they get their way.
This has now twice caused great distress to this locality, on top of it being threatened with back garden housing and Bromley New Town on the common.
