Letter to the editor: I notice in your recent letters page that the Greater London Assembly (GLA) Conservative member for Bexley and Bromley has congratulated the Mayor of London for helping part-time workers with the cost of travelling via Oyster cards.
However, what a pity that the letter writers failed to mention that the cost of zone 1 to 6 off-peak travelcards (covering part of the Bexley and Bromley GLA constituency) will increase by a whopping 34 per cent, from £8.90 to £12.
Like most things, it pays to read the small print and not just the headlines.
