Letter to the editor: Why are there still no ticket barriers at Hither Green station?
I spend a huge proportion of my hard-earned cash on travel.
Yet day after day I see a plethora of chavs, scallys and general cheapskates dodging fares and changing carriages to evade the ticket inspectors.
Hither Green has to be one of the biggest connecting stations in the area and is used by thousands of people in Hither Green, Lee, Ladywell and Lewisham.
It makes me sick the price of tickets go up every year.
Maybe, if everyone paid, the prices could stay the same rather than rising by four per cent every year.
Come on Transport for London, get a grip and install those barriers. Now.
James Smith, Hither Green
