Letter to the editor: I understand 18 pubs a week are closing.

How sad for all those pub managers who had forgotten “the customer is always right” and barred many decent people for trivial arguments over beer quality and so on. They abused their power, lost regulars who spent money and ended up with sad people who nursed a pint all afternoon.

JD Wetherspoon sells beer and wines.

Doesn’t it know people can be petty and argumentative after a few drinks?

The larger problem was the excessive prices.
