Letter to the editor: I am surprised you published Mr Leman’s letter attacking traffic wardens (Those Involved In Issuing Parking Tickets Should Get Their Act Together, News Shopper, March 20).
He does what many badly- informed people do and cite a few instances he’s read about to damn the whole workforce. I am no great fan of traffic wardens but they do an important job in difficult circumstances.
The few times I have seen an altercation between a driver and a warden, it is the driver who is being rude and aggressive.
In our vehicle-saturated London streets, parking restrictions are there for a very good purpose.
