Letter to the editor: There seems to me to be a simple answer to the frequently reported un provoked attacks by loose dogs in our parks and streets.
First, all dogs should have to be microchipped so the owners can be identified.
Next, all dogs when they go out of doors must be adequately muzzled.
Unmuzzled dogs should be captured and put down and the owners traced and heavily fined.
Unchipped dogs should suffer the same fate.
Draconian perhaps, but surely preferable to the dangers inherent in the present state of affairs when walking a pet dog has the potential to be a disaster.
