Over the past few years, bus stop shelters have sprung up at almost every bus stop in the borough.

Seemingly, they have been put up without any consultation with residents and are not subject to usual planning authority processes.

Many shelters are at bus stops which are very lightly used. In too many roads, the shelters have become hideous eyesores.

Worse still, they have also attracted young people with anti-social behaviour tendencies.

More often than not, the shelters are seen as something to damage and decorate with graffiti.

This necessitates regular and costly repair work as well as the removal of graffiti. What can be done to remove bus shelters which are infrequently used and which attract vandalism?
