England fans were outraged after the England squad removed their One Love armband after warnings from FIFA that players wearing such symbols would be booked and sent off the pitch.
This comes amid a joint press release from England and Wales announcing that they would no longer be wearing the armbands despite signing up to the One Love campaign.
FIFA said they would impose "sporting sanctions" if England Captain Harry Kane or Welsh Captain Gareth Bale donned the LGBT equality armband.
With LGBT rights severely limited in Qatar, and same-sex attracted people subjected to upwards of seven years in prison, many were outraged by the U-turn.
However, despite not wearing the armband, Harry Kane instead wore a black and yellow one reading: "No Discrimination."
BBC pundit and former woman's England team captain, Alex Scott wore the armband in her coverage of the game today.

Fans react to England and Wales's decision not to wear One Love armbands in Qatar
Many fans took to Twitter to express their outrage at the move through trending hashtags like "#spineless" and "#Harry Kane."
Some users aimed their ire at the FA, England's national footballing body, for the move while others expressed their anger at FIFA's threat of sanctions.
One user said: "I am so utterly ashamed of England for doing this, not even being able to follow through on an empty gesture for fear of a yellow card. Utterly spineless, what a sour tournament this is turning out to be."
Editor and sports author, Alex Shaw added: "Wearing a little rainbow band to show solidarity looked like an empty, performative gesture at best and now countries are scrapping it because they might get booked. Seems totally spineless and shows up how hollow the initial message was."

Sky Sports presenter Joe Thomlinson was unhappy with the FA 'caving' to pressure, saying: "Imagine how powerful the image of Kane wearing a rainbow armband and being yellow carded by a FIFA branded referee would be.
"The FA should not buckle under the pressure. Wear the armband."

The FA should not buckle under the pressure.
Wear the armband. 👊
However, many others levelled criticism at FIFA for imposing sanctions on players showing support for LGBT people during the Qatar World Cup.
