With the FIFA World Cup taking place in Qatar, many are wondering how much the footballing body will make from this year's tournament.

Qatar received hosting responsibilities for the competition amid concerns over the country's human rights record regarding LGBT, migrant, and Women's rights.

Recently, FIFA president, Gianni Infantino defended the host nation, saying: "I think for what we Europeans have been doing the last 3,000 years we should be apologising for the next 3,000 years before starting to give moral lessons to people.”

bizarrely adding: "Today I feel Qatari. Today I feel Arabic. Today I feel African. Today I feel gay. Today I feel disabled. Today I feel (like) a migrant worker."

He finished by saying: "What do you do then? You try to engage, make friends. Don’t start accusing, fighting, insulting, you start engaging. And this is what we should be doing.”

The World Cup kicked off yesterday (Sunday, November 20) when Qatar and Ecuador went head-to-head to secure the Cup's first win.
