BBC Eastenders star and Strictly Come Dancing winner Rose Ayling-Ellis is set to host CBeebies' bedtime story.
Making history the actress will be the first celebrity to ever sign a bedtime story on the children's channel.
The 27-year-old has been deaf since birth and found fame starring as Frankie Lewis in the BBC soap and she later became the first deaf contestant to win Strictly Come Dancing.
The special bedtime story celebrates Deaf Awareness Week and she will sign Can Bears Ski? written by Raymond Antrobus and illustrated by Polly Dunbar.
The story tells the tale of a young bear and his father on their journey into the discovery and management of deafness.
Whilst she competed in the 19th series of Strictly, Ayling-Ellis performed a touching routine with dance partner Giovanni Pernice during which they paused the music and danced in silence as a tribute to the deaf community.
Speaking about signing for CBeebies, Ayling-Ellis said: “I am super excited to read my first CBeebies bedtime story in British Sign Language and it’s even more wonderful to share a story written by a deaf writer.
“I hope deaf children enjoy the story and it inspires hearing children to want to learn BSL more.”
The show will also have subtitles but will be fully signed in British Sign Language and will only see Ayling-Ellis speak when introducing the story and at the end of the programme.
The soap star has actively campaigned for BSL to be recognised as an official language and be given legal status in the UK.
CBeebies Bedtime Stories airs daily at 6.50pm, with episodes signed by a BSL interpreter shown every Saturday and Sunday.
