French actor Gaspard Ulliel, 37, has died following a ski accident in the French Alps.
The actor stars in the upcoming Marvel series Moon Knight and was hospitalised after an accident on Tuesday.
Ulliel gained international attention for his portrayal of a young Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal Rising.
It is not thought he was wearing a helmet as he crashed into another skier at the Rosiere resort in Savoie.
The accident happened at an intersection of two blue slopes and he was hospitalised in Grenoble immediately.
His family confirmed he died from his injuries in a statement given to the AFP by his agent.
The other skier involved in the accident did not suffer any major injuries.
The actor shares a five-year-old son with model-singer Gaëlle Piétri, who was the face of the Chanel men's fragrance Bleu de Chanel and played Yves Saint Laurent in a 2014 biopic.
The new Marvel TV series Moon Knight will be released on March 30 on Disney Plus.
