More than 55,000 people have been supported by St Christopher’s Hospice over the years and now it’s time to celebrate.
The hospice will be celebrating its 50th birthday in July with families, friends, volunteers, and professionals in end of life care that have been involved with St Christopher’s over the years all invited to come
Nearly 30 per cent of patients at the hospice come from the Croydon borough.
St Christopher’s carer Shaun O’Leary said the hospice meant so much to so many in South East London.
“Very many people know someone who we have helped to look after, and we feel very privileged to be part of that community and receive so much support back in return,” he said.
“Our service will be a wonderful occasion to celebrate the last 50 years and also give thanks to Dame Cicely Saunders, who started the global hospice movement from right here in Sydenham.”
The service will take place at Southwark Cathedral at London Bridge on July 20 at 7pm. It is free to attend.
Tickets must be booked by emailing southwark50@stchristophers.org.uk.
