A Dartford teenager is set to compete in an international youth tournament as one of England’s highest ranked players.
Isabel McCullough, 18, is due to compete in the British Junior Open on January 4 in Birmingham, where she will face off against international squash players in a five-day tournament.
Isabel is set to compete against other high-ranked teenage squash players from Australia, the United States, Egypt and Malaysia.
The teenager recently celebrated her success when she won third place in the British Junior Championships in Sheffield of October 2022.
Isabel said: “I was really pleased with my form at the British Junior Championships and since then I feel like I am improving week by week, putting in the hard work on and off court.
“Preparations have been going really well and I have particularly been working on improving my short game.
“Between now and the start of the tournament I am going to be working on all aspects of my game as well as improving physically.”

The British Junior Open makes a return after a two-year break due to Covid restrictions and is the world’s oldest junior tournament.
Isabel added: “Squash is such a great sport, it is high intensity, physical and highly competitive.
“To take part in this tournament feels great especially when the group of girls competing are at such a high level.
“I would like to say a big thank you to my coach Ben Ford and to my Pureform team along with Move4Sport at Beckenham and sponsors Unsquashable, Wowhydrate and Smash Sports for all their help.”
