FIREFIGHTERS kicked a door down to rescue a sleeping man after a shed fire spread to his house in Bromley.
Crews were called to a back garden shed fire in Turpington Lane at 3:30am this morning (September 7).
Whilst en-route from the station, they were told the fire had spread to the house.
On arrival, neighbours were banging on the door of the house trying to wake the homeowner inside.
However, when he failed to respond crews forced entry and rescued the man, who is in his 60s.
He was treated for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service but not taken to hospital.
The shed – which housed a number of power tools - and garden fence were badly damaged while the back door was completely burnt off its hinges.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
