Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice heralded its annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic event a huge success with 389 children attending. The event was held on August 25 at the Hospice grounds in Abbey Wood, on the outskirts of Greenwich, and raised £4,392 for the Hospice.
The fun-packed afternoon featured magical entertainment, crafts and activities, a bouncy castle, BBQ, refreshments, raffle, stalls and Goldilocks & the 3 Bears' Cottage and included a picnic box for every child.
Kimberley Wheeler, Community Fundraiser at the Hospice, said: “It was a truly magical afternoon which started as soon as the children walked down the drive with lots of teddy bears peeping through the shrubs and trees to greet them. 389 children took part – it was simply fantastic!”
The event was sponsored by Raylets Lettings Agency in Belvedere.
The money raised from the day will help Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice to continue to provide its specialist care services to Greenwich and Bexley residents.
Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice provides end of life care for over 2,500 adults a year with life-limiting illnesses living in the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley, and comprehensive support for their carers, families and friends free of charge.
