WOOLWICH’S paralympian Kate Murray celebrated her 64th birthday on the first day of the Games as the oldest member of Paralympics GB.
The archery athlete hit target and got through to the last 16 before losing out to Turkey’s Gizem Girismen in the Women’s Individual Recurve W1/W2.
Girismen - who is more than half Murray’s age - won 7-1 at the Woolwich Artillery Barracks on Friday.
This is the second Paralympic Games for the mother-of-two who has been competing for nine years and ranked 12th in the Women’s Individual Recurve W2 at Beijing 2008.
