A CATFORD mum has been handpicked by Rihanna to fashion the superstar’s wardrobe during a reality TV show.

Chanelle Edwards, who lives in Waters Road, was one of 12 contestants chosen by the singer to take part in Sky Living’s Style to Rock.

The 29-year-old - who is in her final year at Lewisham College as a fashion student - competes in the show to create the hottest looks for the singer.

Runners-up get to clothe other stars such as Kanye West, Katy B and Rizzle Kicks.

The mother of three-year-old twins Haydin and Micah said: "We all got to meet Rihanna which was amazing.

"It was such a fantastic experience, I think I was in a whirlwind.

"I felt really nervous before, but Rihanna was really nice and I was really relaxed.

"It was such a surreal experience - I wanted to show her I was capable.

"I really like to do classic tailoring but making it a little bit different.

"I admire people like Coco Chanel, Brigitte Bardot and those 1940s silhouettes but tweaking it, modernising it.

"Fashion is a science of expression in a way."

One of her co-stars is another former Lewisham College student Ben Moriah who followed his passion at the London College of Fashion.

Ms Edwards hopes to follow suit and study tailoring at the leading fashion college.

Mr Moriah said: "To have her critique your garments, analyse it and give constructive feedback was great.

"It’s reassuring as a designer because you want somebody who knows about fashion."

The show is currently airing on Sky Living every Tuesday at 9pm and to view some of the mother-of two’s garments visit her blog at chanelleedwards.com
