DEPTFORD and Greenwich's Trinity Laban played a central role in last night's spectacular Paralympic Games opening ceremony.
It featured two compositions from the institution's own Errollyn Wallen, along with a starring role for dance alumnus and double amputee David Toole.
Ms Wallen's work included Principia, a piece which featured 430 people from six London-based choirs, including the Lewisham Choral Society.
She said: "I had been living and breathing these two compositions for months, and felt a huge amount of pride being commissioned twice.
"But from the moment my music was played, I really and truly felt that it wasn't my music any more, it belonged to the performers and the audience."
