A FOUNDATION promoting social inclusion among young people has appealed for new members.
The Crystal Palace FC Foundation Bromley Kickz programme paid a visit Mountfield Community Centre in Sandway Road, St Mary Cray on August 29 to promote awareness of the scheme.
Activities included facepainting, dance workshops, and football training and the Mayor of Bromley attended.
Kickz is run in partnership with the Football Premier League, local authorities, housing associations and the Met.
It builds on the reputation of Crystal Palace FC to engage with young people aged 11 to 18.
Training takes place three evenings a week between 5pm to 8pm across Bromley, Croydon and Sutton.
As well as football skills, young people learn about art, culture, and personal development with training in the youth and community sector.
TheKickz Project Officer for the Bromley borough Kieran Connolly said: “It went really well.
“As well as the mayor, we had about 50 young people who came down, 30 of whom had never been to see us before.
"It worked really well in spreading awareness of the programme and getting people involved.”
Sessions take place in Parkfield Recreational Ground, Whitebeam Avenue, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5.00pm - 8.00pm.
