HAVE a hand in how healthcare is run in Bexley by taking part in the consultation for the council’s new Healthwatch scheme.

Councils across the country are required to set up a consumer champion body for health and social care which will make sure people’s views are taken into account.

The Healthwatch will look at both adult and children’s care and will have an influencing role – becoming involved with plans for services – and a signposting role – by support people with complaints.

The first step in its creation is for the council to get views on what should be its general vision and values.

See the consultation document at Bexley.gov.uk and fill in a survey at www.surveymonkey.com/s/healthwatchbexley.

You can also pick up forms at libraries, GP surgeries, hospital waiting rooms or get them sent to you by calling 020 3045 4069.

The consultation period ends on October 1.
