OLYMPIC excitement has lead to an influx of new members at a hockey society in Beckenham.
New Beccehamian Hockey Club secretary Steph Seeney says interest has more than doubled following Team GB’s London 2012 achievements.
Ms Seeney said: "We had a steady flow of enquiries throughout the summer.
"But when the GB men’s and women’s teams reached the Olympic semi-final, there was a noticeable increase and especially when the women’s team won bronze."
And the club in Lennard Road, Bromley South, is responding by hosting an open day on September 9.
Men and women of all ages and abilities can visit as well as children who are 14 and over.
The event will be held at HSBC Sports Club in Lennard Road, opposite New Beckenham station from noon to 3pm.
