BUDDING bike mechanics in Swanley enjoyed a treat over the bank holiday weekend.
With the Paralympic Games road cycling being held in the district Sevenoaks District Council is promoting the sport and other activities to get residents up and about.
And on Saturday and Sunday Swanley Community Centre hosted a free community bike workshop where locals brought in their old bicycles to be fixed-up as they were taught how to perform minor bike repairs.
This free bike check-up service taught cycle owners basic maintenance skills such as repairing a puncture, tightening brakes and refitting a chain.
Kent company Cycle Circle provided the Bikeability training which also included help with cycling proficiency, allowing new cyclists to gain confidence and some essential skills in a traffic-free environment.
With their newly fixed bikes and maintenance skills residents can enjoy the Sky Rides taking place across Kent throughout August and September.
