A PLANNING application has been submitted to Bexley Council to build 372 homes on the Howbury site in Slade Green.
Comments are already being welcomed by local homeowners on the application, which proposes to build a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses with gardens, as well as apartments and communal space.
Developer Redrow Homes put forward the application following topographical and ecological surveys on the site.
A revealing ecological survey found common lizards and slow worms to inhabit the area and there will now be moved to a suitable alternate habitat at the East Wickham Open Space.
Bexley Council already has its own £8 million investment plans for the site, which include a multi-functional community centre and two primary schools.
