THERE’S no stopping Dartford’s Adam Gemili as he set a personal best in the 200m on Saturday (August 25).
Fresh out of his Olympic semi-final, the former Dartford Grammar School pupil took to the track at the Aviva Birmingham Grand Prix.
The 18-year-old, who lined up in the event alongside Tyson Gay, ran 200m in 20.53 seconds, finishing sixth in the race overall.
This was an improvement in his previous best of 20.61 seconds and a time that ranks him the second fastest British junior in history over 200m.
Following the race, Adam said: “I’m happy with it, very happy.
“It feels good to go to go out and run 20.53 and try a different event.
“It feels like a long way, you run 100m and you’re like ‘I’ve got another 100m to go.”
Jamaican Ashmeade Nickel came first in the race, with Olympic medallist Tyson Gay finishing second.
