DINERS are being transported to the heart of an annual Spanish festival at Tapas Revolution in Bluewater.
La Tomatina Festival is held in the Valencian town of Buñol where participants throw squashed tomatoes at each other.
To mark the event Tapas Revolution has created an entire tomato menu.
I went along with my boyfriend Dan to see if it really was something to celebrate.
We started with Gazpacho de Sandia (traditional chilled vegetable soup with a hint of watermelon) which was refreshing and packed full of flavour - be sure to take plenty of chewing gum for afterwards as there's a lot of garlic throughout the menu.
Next up was the delicious Pan con Tomate (toasted bread with garlic, tomato and olive oil) followed by the mouth-watering Pollo al chilindrón (chicken in an onion, red pepper and tomato sauce).
We also tried Calamares en salsa Americana (squid in a spicy tomato and white wine sauce) - not being a seafood fan I left this one to Dan.
One of my favourite dishes was Patatas Arrugadas (roasted potatoes with spicy 'mojo picon' dip) - the fiery sauce is definitely worth a try.
I was most surprised by the Tomato Jam Cheesecake and would highly recommend this unusual but tasty treat.
The restaurant, which is an open plan kitchen surrounded by 40 high stools, is located in the upper mall of the shopping centre's Plaza dining area.
Staff were extremely friendly and made our experience really enjoyable as they told us all about the Spanish festival and were always ready to bring us more food.
The festival menu is reasonably priced with dishes ranging from £2.95 to £5.50 and diners also have the option to choose the full menu for £10 based on two people sharing.
Chef and creator of Tapas Revolution, Omar Allibhoy, said: “La Tomatina Festival not only creates a buzz in Valencia but throughout the whole of Spain and now I’m hoping the same excitement will come to the UK.
"Instead of throwing tomatoes, I decided to create a menu to celebrate this fine fruit.
"They’re versatile, healthy and extremely tasty and some of the most amazing dishes can be created with them.”
The Tomatina menu runs alongside both the a la carte and set menu until September 2.
