YOUNGSTERS reel-ly got hooked on angling during a taster session in Darenth.
More than 30 five to 17 year olds attended the session as part of a summer long course at Darenth fishery, in Darenth Hill.
Partly funded by the Environmental Agency and in its fourth year, the course was aimed at getting young people on their school holidays out in the fresh air.
Youngsters were taught how to bait up and catch a variety of fish.
Organiser Warren White said: "The course is so popular because angling is known to be the most participated pastime in the UK and parents these days are looking for something for their children to do in the school summer holidays.
"Angling fits the bill because it is a bit different from the normal sports and is a healthy way to get youngsters into the outdoor world instead of being couped up indoors."
