UNTOLD memories of Joyden’s Wood dating back 100 years have been brought together in a unique collection.
Volunteers at the Woodland Trust have pieced together a collection of films, photographs and stories of those who have lived, played and worked around Joyden’s Wood.
Each memory in The Memory Project represents a specific period in the history of the wood.
The series begins with John Locke telling of his life on the bomber flight path during the Second World War and goes on to feature tales from Roy Nicholson, who has lived in the area since childhood.
Joyden’s Wood site manager Simon Bateman said: “Joyden’s Wood is full of stories and this was a fantastic project that pulled these memories and tales of the woodland together into one place where everyone can see and enjoy them.”
