POLICE are appealing for witnesses following the violence in Beckenham Hill on Tuesday afternoon after 10 people were arrested.

A man was shot and two were stabbed at around 4.55pm on Tuesday following a fight on Beckenham Hill Road.

Three men were taken to hospital, two with stab injuries and one with gunshot injuries.

Two of the victims remain in hospital in a stable condition.

One man, 25, is being treated for a gunshot wound to his chest and the other, a man, 18, for a stab injury to his neck.

A third man who was released from hospital has been arrested.

Ten men, aged between 16 and 25, were arrested in relation to the incident.

Eight have been bailed pending further inquiries.

An 18 year old and 25 year old are still under arrest.

Officers recovered a firearm and a number of knives from the scene.

DI Gill Barratt, Trident said: "We want to reassure the community that this is an isolated incident and we are pursuing all lines of enquiry.

"The robust policing response meant that we were able to immediately make a number of arrests.

"We are speaking to a number of witnesses but we encourage residents in the area and the wider community to make contact with us to provide us with as much information as possible."
