A STUDENT is celebrating after becoming the first pupil at his school to gain a place at Cambridge University.
Jonathan Emery has made history at Bishop Justus School, Magpie Hall Lane, Bromley Common, in the school’s second year of A-Levels.
The teenager, who will be studying philosophy at Cambridge, was overjoyed to achieve an A*, two As and a B last week.
He said: “It feels fantastic.
“Everything has paid off in exactly the way I was hoping it would.
“My teachers did pretty much anything and everything to support me in all my subjects and I’m grateful.
“I’m nervous and excited about Cambridge, but I’ve had a lot of support and I’ve done a lot of praying too.”
And Bishop Justus headteacher Kathy Griffiths said: “We are truly delighted with Jonathan’s A-Level results and with his place at Cambridge University.
“We are very proud of his achievements and wish him all the best.”
Bishop Justus School opened in 2004 and the sixth form started there in 2010.
