THREE students from a New Ash Green School won a VIP tour of a fire station after winning a competition to design one.
The youngsters, who attend New Ash Green Primary School, in Church Road, had their designs picked out as the best from more than 70 entrants.
Along with their families, Jack Hardy, Katie Sizmur and Lucy Wykes were given a tour of Sevenoaks Fire Station by Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) chief executive Ann Millington.
They were given the opportunity to see behind the scenes at the station and to look inside a fire engine.
Ann Millington said: “We were delighted so many children from New Ash Green Primary School took part in the competition, and some of the drawings were particularly imaginative.”
KFRS plans to build a fire station at New Ash Green and if the planning application is successful, the winning designs will brighten up the building site hoardings during construction.
