AN ARRAY of ships were on display when model shipwrights got together to show off their creations.
Each year makers from far and wide come to the Society of Model Shipwrights annual event, which this year took place at Petts Wood Memorial Hall, Petts Wood Road, Petts Wood.
More than 150 people came through the doors last Saturday (August 18) but the society’s honorary secretary Peter Rogers says they still made a loss.
Mr Rogers said: “We only attract keen model makers, who come from far away, not your average kid on the street who is more interested in his mobile phone.
“We make a loss every year because we take in much less than the hall costs.
“We run it for our members really.”
The retired chartered surveyor joked that his favourite part of the show is when the judging is over and the mayor of Bromley has gone, so he can finally relax.
