A FORMER stand-up comedian has penned a satire on the British establishment while commuting from Bexley to London.
David Eckhoff, 50, of Wansunt Road in Bexley, wrote the Royal Factor during his 40 minutes a day on the train travelling to his day job as a public relations manager.
The e-book features a fictional prime minister who dreams up a TV talent show to replace the royal family with newfound celebrities.
But his PR stunt backfires and the PM has to try and fetch the Queen from her exile on a cruise ship after a family devoted to tanning beds and creating a police state wins the competition.
David, who used to work the comedy circuit in the capital, began tapping out the book on a mini-laptop two and a half years ago when travelling from Sidcup.
He said: "The Royal Family are great entertainment but whether we should be paying for them is another matter."
The Royal Factor is available on Amazon.
