FAMILIES descended onto a Sidcup allotment over the weekend for the annual Party on the Plot event.
A BBQ, raffle, sling the welly competition and guided tour were enjoyed by more than 45 people at Harland Avenue allotments, in Harland Avenue.
Green fingered participants also entered a variety of awards including best bloom, best vegetable, best plot, longest bean and ugliest fruit.
There were also categories for the best scare crow and for the first time, best chutney and jam.
The event has been running for around four years and is arranged by the plot holders.
Organiser Mick Price said: “It was absolutely wonderful. It was probably the best one we have had and the good weather was with us.
“We had a really good turn out with a few new faces, everyone enjoyed the day.
“We planted an apple tree in commemoration of the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympics.”
