A SUMMER fete delighted residents of a Blackheath care home who enjoyed the heatwave and baking for friends and relatives.
Pensioners at Aldington Care Home put on their aprons to cook up treats for the baking-hot festivities last Saturday [August 8].
An entertainer, BBQ, buffet spread and raffle – which included a signed plaque from Charlton Football Club – all helped to make the day.
Around 50 relatives came to celebrate the fine weather at the care home which houses 29 people from their seventies to late nineties.
Deputy manager Becky Smith said: "It went really really well. We were very impressed with the turnout this year.
"Maybe it was the weather which was glorious.
"The heat was a bit too much for some [residents] but they all thoroughly enjoyed it."
