A HORTON Kirby pub is celebrating being named the Best Family Pub in London and the south-east.
The Fighting Cocks Pub and Riverside Restaurant, in The Street, won the title at The Great British Pub Awards.
It will now go head-to-head with four other regional winners for the overall title of Great British Pub of the Year, which will take place at the Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane on September 13.
The annual event is organised by industry magazine, the Publican’s Morning Advertiser, and is recognised as the Oscars of the pub world.
The Publican’s Morning Advertiser editor Rob Willock said: "The award recognises the pub that has best capitalised on the family market in the past 12 months.
"The Fighting Cocks Pub and Riverside Restaurant has a fantastic offer for its customers and is a worthy winner of the award."
